Q: When will Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning be released?
A:
Warhammer Online is currently scheduled to be released in the 4th Quarter of 2008. Pre-Orders for the Collector's Edition are already available at numerous retailers.

Q: Since there will obviously need to be an Open Beta before launch, when will that take place?
A:
EA Mythic's "European Spokesman" (the source was no more specific) has stated that open beta will begin some time this summer and posting by GM/VP Mark Jacobs has stated only about 8,000 people are currently testing. If you are interested in beta testing, be sure to sign up.

Q: What are the system requirements for Warhammer Online?
A:
There has been no official statement from EA Mythic on what the system requirements will be for the system but speculation and rumor has put them in the mid-range for PC's.

Q:What requirements are there to sign up for the Closed Beta?
A:
There are a limited number of Closed Beta spots available and not everyone that applies will be admitted. Closed Beta testers will be selected based on a variety of factors, including computer system specs, game experience, newsletter subscription, and community involvement. The Closed Beta is limited to players 18 years of age or older, and requires the acceptance of the Beta Test Agreement located at the bottom of this form.

There are a number of things that could get you in the closed beta from your system specifications to just pure random chance. Registering multiple times will not necessarily increase your odds.

Q: Is there any way to increase my chance to get in beta?
A:
There are a few ways to improve your chances, but none of them guarantee when exactly you would get in. First is to purchase the Warhammer: Condemned by Fire comic book series. Each issue provides you a 1 in 5 chance of receiving a beta invite which can be redeemed at a later time. Your other option is to purchase the Collector's Edition which will not only get you into the open beta, but give you a head start by allowing early access at launch.

Q:What is in the Collector's Edition and how much is it?
A:
EA Mythic apparently wants to make Warhammer Online one of the beefiest collector's editions you've ever seen. You'll have the following included in your seven pound box:

  • AN EXCLUSIVE GAMES WORKSHOP MINIATURE
  • AN ORIGINAL GRAPHIC NOVEL
  • THE ART OF WARHAMMER ONLINE
  • Bonus In-Game Item – THE LIBRAMS OF INSIGHT
  • Bonus In-Game Content – Quests, Rewards, and Titles
  • Bonus In-Game Content – Character Heads

The retail price for the Collector's Edition is $79.99 USD and will be available in both Europe and North America. There are only 60,000 units being produced in North America so waiting until launch is not the best plan if you want to try and get one.

Q:What operating systems will Warhammer Online be available for?
A:
Warhammer Online will most certainly support Windows Vista and likely Windows XP as well. There has been no mention of providing the game for Macintosh (like you guys really expected it). There have also been rumors EA Mythic has been in talks about releasing the game for the Xbox360 console.
