The Phoenix of the South

The Southern Atlantean Artifact
"I managed to corrupt the blood, now the monster should be weaker. Thoth Amon's demon will not stop me. I need to get the Phoenix of the South and escape the cave by jumping down into the water and swim out."

Slay the Blood Defiler
Collect the Atlantean Artifact

The Black Lotus has weakened the Blood Defiler enough for you to attack.

Now that you have poisoned the blood, the Blood Defiler should be a lot more manageable. Make your way back down to the left cave. You will find the Blood Defiler still bathing in the blood of the serpent shaped alter below at coordinates 216, 242. As always bring a couple of healing potions as a precaution and engage him. This will be your toughest fight in the caves, but it should not be to difficult to bring him down now that he suffers from the effects of the Black lotus you slipped into his blood bath (buffet?). Once you have defeated the creature collect the Phoenix of the South segment of the medallion nearby at coordinates 212, 217. The medallion is magically sealed until you defeat the defiler, but once he is out of the way you can collect the second piece of the artifact.

The medallion rests on an alter near the Blood Defiler.
