WoW: Zul'Aman Minimum Requirements

Posted June 10th, 2008 by Shayalyn

Make Sure You're Ready

Over time many players have entered Karazhan, some have succeeded, many have failed. Many who see the loot in the next 10 man instance, Zul'Aman, try to rush to enter it before being properly geared. Not many places list what stats you really need to be there? As a raid leader it is hard to come up with standards on who gets an invite and who doesn't, as it's never fun telling someone that they can not go. That's where this guide by Byron "Messiah" Mudry steps in to help, by providing starting stats as to who should get in to Zul'Aman.

The biggest change from Karazhan to Zul'Aman is in the tanking + healing requirements, and the over all health and DPS requirements. Everything ramps up substantially from the Karazhan minimums. Tanks now needs at least 16k health buffed to comfortably tank the bosses, and more is always better. Also healers in general require over 1600 +healing. All members also need significantly more health to withstand AOE and charge type effects.

Are you sure about the warrior tanking minimums, Messiah? My warrior in my sig has over 45% avoidance and when in Kara passes 16,000HP buffed with his current base health.

I would agree with Messiah - I got to tank Nalarokk, the first boss, a couple weeks ago. I know from experience with my shaman in there that he is like fighting a druid, shifting from bear to human and when in bear form does the swipe ability and tanks take a lot of damage. You definitely need to be on the high end of KZ having gotten Nightbane down a couple times being well geared from there.

However beyond Nalarokk I have not gotten very far beyond that having gotten the second (Eagle)...

50/50

i agree with most, but i differ on opinion on paladins (only class i can comment on).

Paladin healers need at least 1800/1900 healing to heal in ZA. This is very easy obtainable with kara/badge gear. I myself have 2100 healing ubuffed and still find it hard sometimes (spamming holy light on tank when he's in bear form and his DOT's do major dmg).

As a paladin tank though, you dont need 16K buffed. We had our paladin tank it multiple times (on nalorak, akil'zon and jan'alai) with around ...

Well going by that, then, Bogrol's ready to tank ZA... mmh.....

I would personally move up the warrior tank armor, I think 12K armor is way too little. The HP might be a little low, but since it's unbuffed, you'll get to about 16-17K with buffs. Although if you're clearing Kara regularly and buying badge loots, no reason it would be that low unless you're gemming like absolute crap.
