It did sound just a little fishy.

Clarifying the buzz from yesterday, NAMCO/BANDAI community manager Diane "Tiggs" Migliaccio had this to say:

"Let me explain things a bit to see if it clears up any issues for you. Hanbit owns the IP and rights to publish anywhere other [than] the US and EU, and I think the other territory is Japan. Namco owns the rights to publish in the US and EU."

"The servers will never exist in the US and EU again. Hanbit aka Redbanana can not have servers in the US or EU,"

That sounds pretty darn final. And ironic to boot since the expansion HanbitSoft is developing for Korea is being developed here in the U.S.A. So, Hellgate players, take this time between now and the end of January to enjoy and say goodbye to the game you love. You'll never see it again. Unless of course you plan to move to Korea.
