However, I know quite a few folks that are just as content to play the game their way and who ignore most informational materials outside of the game they play. These folks are the rose-smellers of the world. I envy them, really.

I spend most of my free time around the internet absorbing everything I can about this industry, and that makes it very hard to be a rose-smeller because I wind up knowing too much. I think when I get my newly rolled characters in WoW to level 70 and into Northrend I'm going to have to purposely avoid any and all advice on where to go and what to do.

I specifically didn't get caught up in the hype of the Lich King's launch by rerolling entirely on a new server with my guild, and I think in order to avoid my acting like the blonde-haired snot in today's strip I'm going to have to actively practice ignorance. It'll be just like that time I shut out the image of my grandma's rear end when I walked in on her changing, only this time without the serious emotional scarring.
