Oi, Mate!

How cool is England that at their prestigeous BAFTA (British Academy of
Film and Television Arts) Awards, they recognize MMOs
(massively-multiplayer online games)! Well, take a guess who got a
BAFTA:

DDO wins a BAFTA
Award!

Last
night, DDO was awarded best multiplayer game by The British Academy of
Film and Television Arts, the UK's leading organization dedicated to
the recognition and promotion of excellence in the fields of the moving
image.

DDO was up against some stiff competition including:

  • Animal Crossing: Wild World (Nintendo/Nintendo)
  • Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (EA Games/Digital Illusions)
  • Guild Wars Factions (NCsoft/ArenaNet)
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (Ubisoft/Ubisoft
    Paris)

Taking the award for best multiplayer game from amongst such great
opponents is wonderful recognition for DDO. Congratulations to everyone
involved!

Renowned for its high profile Film & Television Awards
ceremonies, the prestigious BAFTA mask has long been seen as a symbol
of excellence.

The Academy is now committed to the development of the contemporary art
form of video games, and to lending equal weight to its British Academy
Video Games Awards as that given to film and television.
