Gamers Meeting in Real
Life? You Bet!

Once upon a time, gamers were relegated to basement LAN parties and
frag fests. Now, the phenomenon that is online gaming finds MMO players
getting together to meet their online gaming buddies in the real world.
Medeor takes a look at the ways that gaming and real life converge.
Will his Outlook one day pop up a corporate meeting reminder telling
him to meet his colleagues in a neutral tavern on a WoW server? You
just never know!

I wouldn’t necessarily meet up with any of
the Halo l33ters who have fragged me, but I would meet up with my MMO
buddies. I don’t know many who would literally die for their
guild mates, but their avatars take punches for them every night. It is
really quite chivalrous. Maybe we could get that back into society, hmm?
