Trickster's Haven Guides

For quite some time before my main character hit 40, I would always see, "Class X looking for Trickster's!" scroll across the Qalia regional chat channel as I off adventuring. I always wondered what it was, where it was, and above all, what secrets did it hold? Since I'm finally there, let's find out together.

AzzadNayib Al'kalee

You've slain undead, summoned ancient scholars, saved a friendly gnome, and have been cast out of Trickster's Haven by an uppity shade king called Nayib Al'kalee. Enough is enough, and it's finally time to step back into Trickster's Haven and show them they've finally agitated the wrong person.

Per usual, Azzad has a plan so "we" can stop Nayib Al'kalee. Yet again, this plan consists of him doing a whole lot of nothing while we go back into the devil's maw to slay the demon. Yay. After the condescending speech you had to endure from Nayib right before he booted your posterior outside of the dungeon though, a little payback is order this time, so Azzad's plan doesn't sound too bad this time.

Azzad tells you that Nayib Al'kalee needs to be slain so that you may enter the painting and seek the treasures hidden beyond. He claims he's doing all this to protect the current king from suffering the same fate as the kings of old, but let's face it - he seems more interested in the treasure than anything else at this point. The lure of loot has finally become too much to resist.

Azzad suggests searching the statues in Nayib's chambers. This statement could be a bit confusing because as you saw when you spoke with Nayib earlier, he has a number of statues surrounding him on the upper level of the room. The statue you're concerned with though is on the bottom level; right by the gnome you saved earlier. When you get near the statue, a set of text will appear on your screen stating, "Find my sword that has fallen in the water, and then confront Nayib Al'kalee."

If you're looking at the gnome, the sword is in the pool of water in the upper left side of the room. Be careful when searching for the sword, as there are a number of 4 dot Ivory-Hooded Snakes in the pools. The sword appears to be on an approximately 30 minute timer, so if a group has just come in and grabbed it, it's not a super long wait for the next one to appear. Any party member (that has the quest) can grab the sword. There is no need to try and have all members get it. With the respawn timer on the sword, that's a good thing.

Take your party and the sword to the upper section of The Room of Dreams to confront Nayib. When all party members are ready, hail Nayib and let the battle begin. Beware of wander shades that will join the battle if they come into range. Nayib will summon a few guardians for the battle, but if everyone concentrates on Nayib first, you should be fine. Kill Nayib and the get the heck out of Dodge and back to Azzad.

When you go back to Azzad, he tells you that since Nayib Al'kalee said he had the key, but there was no key on him, then he must have been the key himself. By slaying Nayib, you therefore now have the power to enter the painting. As a reward, Azzad gives you a choice of leggings for your efforts in all of this.

NOTE: The next quest in the series is called, "Beyond the Painting" and this is the entry into a whole new section of Trickster's Haven that is a Cyclops palace. To get to this area, simply go to the Wall of Denial (see map) and touch the painting. Let the adventures begin!
