Keeping up with the Official Forums can be cumbersome and who really has time to troll through hundreds of dramatic posts for that one nugget you occasionally find? I do! Join us as Ten Ton Hammer examines all the important threads this week and keeps you up to date.

August Q & A: Book 10 Changes

This is one of the hot topics for the week. Orion is near completion of the new Dev Diary and has begun a developer Q and A for the month of August. Already there are several great questions and answers addressing issues with Monster Play and character skills. Cadraver even asked about Monster emotes to which Orion responded…

“I was just talking about this with one of our animators the other day. We both agree that it would be awesome. It is not on the schedule right now, but we want to get them in as a nice present. *wink*”

Head on over and post your questions now.

Roheryn: Book 10 Overview

Our beloved Meghan "Patience" Rodberg has posted the patch notes for the Roheryn server for the Book 10 update. There is plenty to discuss on this one and even a good look at what’s to come. There are some such as Starhawk pointing out that some of the Hunter skills seem weaker, but the patch notes say otherwise. Time will reveal all things.

Hidden Nuggets we see all the time...

This thread was pretty interesting. It was started by Adder and requested people to share little Easter egg type nuggets they might have encountered in the game such as small adaptations from the book that were integrated into the system somehow. Adder used the slogan at the log in screen as an example. “Click Friend and Enter.” This is derived from the story when Gandalf translated the door near Moria that said, “Speak friend and enter.” There were several good examples and even Jonathan "Berephon" Rudder developer for Turbine and local self proclaimed Resident Wordsmith and Lore-monkey joined the discussion to share his wisdom.

What is wrong with LOTRO

This was the standard doom and gloom post and really was pretty much flames and bashes up until Skataneric one of the only voices of reason in this conversation offered several useful suggestions in what to do while you wait on page and provided a few links to a site showing possibility in Middle Earth expansion for our beloved MMO.

Tactical Crit?

Eggsovereasy started this thread to get insight into what a tactical crit is. If you are curious about this yourself read on. There were several bits of useful information from a few helpful individuals explaining exactly what a tactical crit is and how you can find out what uses them.

Can playing LOTRO get you sick ?

This discussion started to debate whether playing Lord of the Rings to much can get you sick. The idea that maybe not getting enough sleep because of playing to much was tossed around, but who’s fault is that eh? The discussion proceeds with many people sharing their how to play long periods methods, and even some sharing medical warnings. The thread does deviate from time to time to a debate of how many played hours equals a hard core player, but what discussion of this nature doesn’t?

A grave issue

To end things on a comical note, Hallvadr has started a save the Norbogs thread and even created a site page for good humor. Feel free to join that discussion and share in a good laugh.
