Lord of the Rings Online Creature Bestiary: The Shire

By Darkgolem

The Shire is home to a very wide variety of creatures.  Evil men, many wild animals, goblins, unique creatures.. all are found in the Shire, tucked away between the many towns and farms of this ordered land.  Most of these creatures are not overly difficult for a enterprising hobbit to deal with, but one must be cautious, there are enough dangerous creatures scattered among the less dangerous creatures.  Often these creatures come in packs.

Some creatures are vulnerable to various special damage types, especially fire and light.  It is a good idea, if your perhaps earning a deed at a later level, or have a friend with special damage types (such as loremasters with fire, or minstrels with light) to keep an eye on what creatures are vulnerable to.  It can make a big difference in determining the ease of the quests here.

It should be noted that locations of creatures here are not the only places these creatures are found in the Shire.  For example, while wolves are found west of Hobbiton, they are found in large number east of Budgeford and west of Stock too.
