We last left off fighting Malygos troops in Coldarra. Before we start there are a few things to note. At this point you can run the Nexus and hit level 72 or thereabouts really quickly making a lot of the upcoming quests easier and putting you ahead a good bit. You should also note that youll be inside of a cave for an extended period of time so a lot of food, water, and ammo would be good to have stocked up.
If youre ready to begin then head to Amber Ledge and then get on the main road going northward. If you follow the road youll reach an outpost to your left going north called Borgorok Outpost. If you need the coordinates then just head towards 50,11. When you get there (if youve been following the guide) you should have a quest known as Report to Borogorok Outpost, Quickly! which you can now turn in.
Get the flight point and pick up The Sky Will Know and Steeljaws Caravan. These quests lead to two different lengthy quest lines so be ready for some grinding. Go ahead and head west out of the outpost to 47,9 where youll find an elemental known as Imperean.
Youll get the quest Boiling Point after you turn in The Sky Will Known. This quest is really simple but you can complicate it with useless grinding. Luckily this is a pretty good farm spot for elemental items so the area is usually cleared out but that wont always be true so lets assume that the place is teeming with elementals. Sneak around to 50,14 avoiding as many elementals as you can to defeat Simmer. Once he gets almost done hell do a little bit of a speech and then despawn. Hes pretty easy to get to since hes up on a cliff and there isnt a lot in the way.
Next up is Churn who is around 45,15. The trick here is that his pool is just swarmed with elementals and getting through to him would be a long process so here is what you do. Sneak around the elementals to where the path down into the water starts and youll see the waterfall. Thats where Churn is at. Just pull him out and do the same thing. Get him low and hell despawn. Return back to turn in and youll get Motes of the Enraged.
This quest is pretty simple. To the west around the ruins youll see Enraged Tempests who will drop Tempest Motes. They have a low drop rate so you may be here a bit but the grinding experience is well worth it. When youre done getting five motes you can return to get the next quest in this line which is Return to the Spirit Talker.
Head back to the outpost and talk to Spirit Talker Snarlfang. The next quest is Visions of Air which is really easy. Use [Impereans Primal] near the totem to see a quick act played out within a blue aura. When its finished talk again with Snarlfang to turn in and get Farseer Grimwalkers Spirit.
Before you head out heed my warning or else youll be in a world of sorrow. If you read the text youll see Ortosh saying come see him. If you do youll get the quest Revenge Upon Magmoth. If you look eastward out of the outpost youll see a cave and thats where the quest is at. If you really need a cord then go to 53,13.
Go ahead and start by entering the cave. Well do the enemies on the outside later, but now lets get the main quest line done. Dont jump down or youll face the big bad dude in the middle which is for the Alliance and not the Horde. Just run down the spiraling ramp until the bottom. If you follow the side you should avoid a lot of the aggro. Do not go out of your way to get any of the Shamans or Mates for the revenge quest. Those will come later. If you aggro them go ahead and kill them but dont go out of your way basically.
When you reach the bottom (past the entrance to Magmothregar) you should see a room. Inside of it is a lot of Mates of Magmothregar and their offspring. Clear out the way to him (you can kind of sneak through the middle of the room to save some time) and talk with the spirit of Grimwalker. Hell ask you to kill Kaganishu (with the quest oddly named Kaganishu) who is outside the room in a corner.
Hes got a fairly ok respawn but the room with Grimwalker can repop pretty quickly. When youve killed Kaganishu use the fetish on Grimwalker and turn the quest in. Return my Remains is the follow-up to the quest and again read the bold text! Before you leave get his remains from below him or youll be making another long walk back down here.
When youre done with all of that youre going to be left with the revenge quest. Youll need 10 Shamans, 5 Foragers, 3 Crushers, and 3 Mates of Magmothregar. By now you should have a good deal of Shamans and Mates. The Mates are inside, Crushers and Foragers are outside, and Shamans are everywhere round the cave. Dont just look at the entrance for Crushers and Foragers and look all around the area.
When youre finished return back to the outpost and turn in both quests. Youre now done with the outpost for the time being. Restock up on food, ammo, etc. for the caravan.
Steeljaws Caravan is at 48,19 or basically south of the outpost. There are three quests here and one of them is an escort that will finish most of the first two. Start off by getting the quests Pick Up The Honored Dead and Put Them to Rest. When you have these two quests then go ahead and look over the instructions for each and ready your torch. Youll want to kill as many of the spirits and burn as many corpses while doing the escort as you can. When youre done pick up We Strike!.
We Strike! will spawn a lot of guards that will move area to area with you killing the spirits in their path. Use their help and be sure to do as much damage to get the kill and quest credit at the same time. Just follow them until Steeljaw spawns. When he spawns let them tank while you DPS him down. Avoid his whirlwind attack as much as you can and be careful. Hes pretty tough. When hes dead finish up the other two quests and then turn all three in. Youre now done with the area.
If you have rested experienced and grinded enough youll now be level 72. Congratulations! If youre falling back some, thats fine. Just continue following the guide to 80 and youll hit 72 shortly. Until the next update comes out you can reference this article on where to go and when in Northrend.
