style="font-style: italic;">A beta rift to Telara is about to rip open.

If you've been patiently waiting for the Rift: Planes of Telara beta, your wait is about over. Trion Worlds today announced that Rift will enter its first closed beta testing phase on December 3rd with the testing phase to conclude on December 6th, 2010. Rift beta testers will be pulled from a few different pools, so be sure to head over and sign up if you haven't for your chance at joining the beta. Additional chances at beta will be available through VIP beta keys that Trion will be giving away on the Rift: Planes of Telara forums, Twitter page and Facebook page,

The first beta phase called "Rise of the Defiant" will feature the first 20 levels of play and will include the Plane of Death invaded land of Freemarch and the Defiant starter zone.

“This is a momentous event for the entire Trion team, as well as the fans that have been following Rift since we first announced the game,” said Scott Hartsman, Rift’s Executive Producer and Trion’s Chief Creative Officer. “We’ve created this deep, vibrant world that’s just waiting to be populated with enthusiastic players, and our hope is that gamers will enjoy playing the game as much as we’ve enjoyed building it.”
