Planet Calypso, that planet in the Entropia Universe popular for those elaborate auctions, has been acquired by Planet Michael developer SEE Virtual Worlds along with the assets of MindArk subsidiary First Planet Company for a cool six million USD. Last year SEE Virtual Worlds announced plans to develop additional planets for the Entropia Universe beginning with Planet Michael, a Michael Jackson-based virtual planet being developed with the Jackson estate. The developer later announced a deal with MGM Universal to develop a Universal Monsters MMOG featuring several iconic characters and monsters from classic monster movies.

"As we move into 2011 and beyond, SEE Virtual Worlds will continue to bring its innovative product offerings to the virtual world marketplace," said Martin Biallas, CEO of SEE Virtual Worlds. "We know that virtual worlds are extremely lucrative and much of our success will be strengthened by working with Mindark and the added experience that First Planet Company brings to the process, having developed the most successful planet in the Entropia Universe to date."
