Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) was rocked by huge layoffs last week, resulting in the displacement of 205 employees, the cancellation of their spy-based MMOG The Agency and the closing of three of its studios. According to a report from Planetside Universe, the move has also caused a delay in the release of SOE's upcoming Planetside Next title, which was rumored to have a possible release in March of this year. That obviously didn't happen. SOE President John Smedley told the gaming site that Planeside Next will be out later this year, but the game will also benefit from additional resources.
