STO Adds Nimbus Zone to Legacy of Romulus

Star Trek Online (STO) players will have the chance to explore another new location with the upcoming Legacy of Romulus expansion with Nimbus III. The planet was first seen in the movie Star Trek V: The Final Frontier and was previously known as the “Planet of Galactic Peace”, a joint development project between the Federation, Klingon, and Romulan Empires. As indicated in the movie, the project was inevitably a failure and has devolved into a lawless planet under the control of the Orion Syndicate in the STO universe.

Nimbus III is the newest zone added to the Legacy of Romulus expansion. The planet is run by Hassan the Undying, a high ranking official of the Orion Syndicate. Players will be tasked with seeking out and stopping the syndicate’s dealing of dangerous weapons with the help of Horace Jones, the descendant of Cyrano Jones, another iconic character from the original Star Trek series and the one responsible for the Tribble infestation of the K-7 space station.

Nimbus III is designed for players spanning levels 21 to 25 and include new episode missions, daily missions, dance competitions, and more. The new zone will be available with the launch of the Legacy of Romulus on May 21st, 2013.
