Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) is set to launch on December 20th and BioWare has plenty of momentum heading in. According to a statement from EA CFO Eric Brown at the annual Global Media and Communications Conference, SWTOR attracted over 2 million beta volunteers for the upcoming MMORPG. Brown also noted that over 725,000 players took part in the Thanksgiving weekend beta and that at its concurrent peak; SWTOR had over 250,000 players playing at the same time.

SWTOR has already broken EA’s highest pre-order record and drawn fire from Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick. Despite that, SWTOR marches forward and is set to kick off its staggered Early Access on December 15th.
