This scenario is one of the four added to the game in Patch 5.3. The Secrets of Ragefire is presented from a Horde point of view and takes place in the Ragefire Caverns. These caverns are an offshoot of the Ragefire Chasm found under Orgrimmar.
This scenario takes place chronologically after the Dark Heart of Pandaria scenario as it displays items that were dug up in that scenario. The scenario also continues to show how the Horde is fracturing from within and that it may not be long until a new Warchief is put in place.
To start this scenario for the first time you need to visit Lorewalker Cho in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. There he will give you an introduction to the backstory and then you can queue for the scenario.
The scenario is made up of four separate stages that all happen in the small area of Ragefire Caverns as shown on the map below.
Throughout the scenario you will be given a bonus ability that will allow you to rocket jump across about 40 yards and slam down on anyone in your landing area for significant damage. Make sure you use this to both help move around and to cause damage.
In this first stage you will find yourself as part of a goblin team investigating disappearances in Durotar and have tracked them here to the Ragefire Cavern.
You will need to make your way through the tunnel towards the main chamber of the cavern and once there you will find the first stage boss. He is an orc called Dark Shaman Xorenth who is immediately hostile towards you. Your group tries to talk some sense into him saying that the goblins and orcs are allies, to which he responds with insults and comments of the goblins being a lesser race. All is obviously not well in the Horde alliances.
Slay the shaman to move on to the next stage.
The second stage of the scenario is completed by simply searching the room. To search the room head to each of the three piles of items around the outside edge. There you will need to look at the Proto-drake eggs, the supply crates, and the Pandarian artifacts.
In the third stage you need to collect various items from around the cavern so that Ticker can build a device to open the next gate. To do this you will need to collect 3 cannon balls, 2 batteries, a pool pony, and an egg yolk.
While you are doing all of this you will be under attack by various enemies that spawn as you touch the items.
The fourth and final stage is all about surviving and making your escape from the cavern. One of the goblins named Patch will start putting together a teleporter in the center of the room that will allow you to get the heck out of the cavern, however he takes a while to do so.
While Patch is trying to put together the teleporter there will be several waves of Kor'kron Soldiers that rush in trying to stop you from escaping. Make sure you grab these and DPS them down so that they do not kill the NPC goblins in your group.
Once you have defeated all the waves, you can make your escape through the teleporter and end the scenario.
There are 3 different achievements that can be earned in this scenario.
The Secrets of Ragefire – Complete the The Secrets of Ragefire scenario.
This achievement is earned by simply finishing the scenario.
The Few, The Proud, The Gob Squad – Prevent any of the goblins from taking damage during the scenario.
This is a pretty hard achievement to complete, since the enemies will head in towards the goblins as soon as they spawn. The best way to complete this achievement is to make sure that you use AOE as soon as you see an enemy so that you pull them all to your group and away from the goblins. Having a tank in the group can help as well as they can hold all of the enemies easily while you pick them off.
Heroic:The Secrets of Ragefire – Complete the The Secrets of Ragefire scenario on Heroic Difficulty.
While the scenario is easy to compete (and short) on normal mode, on heroic it gets quite a bit harder. This is especially true of the last several groups of enemies that come in for the final stage, they will hit very hard and you will need to use cooldowns and escapes to make sure you live through the stage. Also since you need to be in a pre-made group to queue for a heroic scenario it may be hard for some casual players to complete this one.
Listed above are our tips on earning the achievements in this scenario, there are many other ways to do them as well. Why don't you share your methods in our comment section below.
