Mahomes’ professional career started in the 2017 NFL draft. The soon-to-be star was selected with the 10th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs. Under the guidance of the Chiefs' legendary head coach, Andy Reid, Mahomes swiftly asserted himself as the Chiefs starting quarterback. It wasn't long before he was mesmerizing fans and critics alike with his inhuman performances. For example, in Mahomes' sophomore year, he became only the second player in NFL history to throw for over 5,000 yards and have 50 touchdowns in a single season. This same year, he won the league’s MVP title. Mahomes took the NFL’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in only his second professional season (2018), he would regain this title again in the 2022 season.
