Casino game releases to look out for in 2022
2022 has already proved to be an exciting year for new casino games and slots, and the release schedule for the rest of the year is packed too. The past couple of years have seen more growth in the online casino industry, and software studios are working overtime to create new and innovative slots and games to keep up with demand.
With so many new titles in the works or freshly released, there is no way that we can list every single one right here. Instead we have made a selection of some of the biggest and best new games to look out for this year. If you want to play one of them, look for recommended sites to find the safest way to access the latest online casinos. Here are our picks.
NetEnt Super Stars
If you have enjoyed some of NetEnt’s most famous slot games over the years, then just wait for Super Stars. We don’t know that much about the details of this game - no word on RTP or gameplay as yet - but any NetEnt fan is sure to get a kick out of this slot. We are in the age of meta, and NetEnt have created what is probably the first meta-slot, featuring characters from several of their other games going back more than a decade.
Find Lady Pig from Piggy Riches, notorious explorer Gonzo, Brute from Space Wars, Finn of the Swirly Spin, and even the iconic Starburst star in this mashup of all of NetEnts greatest hits. This game is rumored to be the most expensive slot ever produced, so we expect big things.
Apollo Pays Megaways (Big Time Gaming)
BTG continue to roll out their massively popular Megaways slots, and Apollo Pays is the latest addition to the collection. The developers have gone with the timeless theme of Greek mythology for this one, which is sure to please a lot of players. If you’re already a fan of the Megaways mechanic then this is definitely one to check out. The innovation here is that it’s the first of these slots to also include the hold and spin feature, which allows players to hold symbols from a winning combo and respin.
Narcos Mexico (Red Tiger Gaming)
The first Narcos slot, based on the Netflix series of the same name, was a bit of a letdown for some players. In a rare misstep for veteran creators NetEnt, the gameplay left many feeling underwhelmed. Now that Red Tiger Gaming has taken on the Narcos brand, we can see a positive change. The good things from the first game remain, namely the incredible graphics, but the gameplay and max wins have been bulked up. The Cartel Spins feature is especially fun and potentially rewarding.
Crazy Coin Flip (Evolution)
This one is a little bit of a gamble for developers Evolution, as it presents what they are calling a brand new concept in casino gaming. Evolution, of course, are the masters of live dealer casino games, and this is an attempt to bridge the gap between slots and live casino. The inspiration for the game is the Coin Flip bonus round from the existing game Crazy Time Live, which has been expanded into an all-new experience. Here is a slot game with a host and a live bonus round. Even the studio spokespeople admit that they are not sure if it will work, but if players take to it then expect to see a lot more like it in the future.
Vikings go to Valhalla (Yggdrasil)
Yggdrasil goes back to its roots with this installment of the flagship Vikings collection. One of the first studios to really give NetEnt a run for their money on the graphics front, Yggdrasil has consistently put out high quality games since exploding onto the scene in 2013. The new Vikings game offers interactive features, respins and free spins, and the potential for a massive win of more than a million with the Ragnarok free spins.
Misery Mining (Nolimit City)
Nolimit City is emerging as a quirky studio with some really out-there themes for their slot games. After the somewhat questionable Punk Toilet came out earlier this year - not for the faint of heart - the developer is back with a dark twist on the legend of gold-mining dwarves. No Disney hi-ho here, it’s gritty and edgy and a lot of fun. Starting out with 3x3 reels, players blast through to the full extent of 7x7 using the xBomb feature. Off to work we go.
Of course there are a lot more games released just about every day, but these are some of the ones that we find the most interesting and exciting. We hope you enjoyed our list, and that you enjoy playing the games as well.
