Character Claiming Comes to PlayerScore!

Available this week exclusively on PlayerScore.com, we have an all new update
that will revolutionize your experience with both the add-on and here on the
PlayerScore website. As most of you know, PlayerScore has been built from the
ground up to provide users a comprehensive means of tracking important data
about your characters both in and out of World of Warcraft, but our latest
release seals the deal by giving users the ability to claim characters, and a
whole lot more.

Before I dive into all the juicy details on character claiming and the World of
Features it brings to the table, first I’d like to highlight a few of the other
major changes being implemented with the add-on for the latest release.

We’ll have a comprehensive changelog for your viewing enjoyment shortly, but in
the meantime here are a few of the new features you can look forward to this
week:

New Mini-map Icon

Due to player feedback for the PlayerScore add-on, the in-game Hammer icon is
now disabled by default. To replace the Hammer icon, the mini-map icon is now
enabled by default instead. We understand that screen real estate is at a premium in WoW, so this will give you the option to help reduce the clutter so you can focus more on poking fun of all the people prancing around on their sparkle ponies and soon to be released winged lion mounts

While the current version of the mini-map icon is still somewhat basic, in a
future release it will include the ability to change every option for the add-on
directly from the mini-map icon's context menu.

Lite Mode

When you first install the add-on (or update to the newest version that contains
this feature) you will be asked if you want to run in Full Mode or Light Mode, as shown in the image below.
In a nutshell, light mode will disable all but the absolutely necessary items.
This is perfect for users that only want to use the most basic functions of
PlayerScore to save on system memory, but you’ll always have the option to turn
the full mode version back on at any time in the options menu.

There are plenty of other bells and whistles coming your way in the latest
release, but the two that have us most excited by far are…

Character Claiming and Watch Lists

You heard that right - PlayerScore now gives all users the ability to claim your
characters!

Once you log into World of Warcraft, you will be able to claim your character
in-game by typing "/claim" into the chat box. A URL will be generated which will
take you to PlayerScore.com and allow you to login and claim the character you
were just on.

Players who claim a character will be given access to all kinds of exclusive
benefits such as…

The "My Claimed Characters" Watch List

Each character you claim will automatically be added to a custom watch
list here on PlayerScore.com, giving you one-click access to the information for
all of your WoW characters in one handy place. Keep in mind, however, that only your /claimed characters will be added to this list. If you would like to create additional, custom watch lists of your friends, guild mates or even your greatest foes, you'll need to be a Premium Member.

Email Alerts

Not only will you be able to quickly access the list of all your
/claimed characters here on the PlayerScore website, but you can now receive email alerts that will inform you of important updates to the character info on your list. The infinitely flexible "custom" watch lists created by premium members can also be set up to receive alerts on a per-list basis.

Elite Tags

Premium members get a cool skull icon and the "PlayerScore Elite"
in-game tag on their main character. You'll be able to select which of your characters you want flagged as your main here on the site at any time, so you don't have to worry about your fancy new title being locked to a character that you've decided to retire. Think of the Elite Tag kind of like an in-game BoA item that you can pass between any characters on your account. Once you've /claimed one of your characters, you can flag it as your main regardless of what order it was claimed in.

There are plenty of other awesome features associated with character claiming
that will be coming your way as well, but those are just a few to help whet your
appetite. Are you curious to learn more about what’s in store? Let us know in
