One thing that people always wonder, is why content isn't added that appeals to the majority of the playbase. I mean, why do those that play casually have to pay for raid content that they will never use or even see? Casual player server? I dunno. It's an interesting concept, but the bottom line is, the content is there whether you want it or not.
This idea was posed on the SOE EQ2 forums, and Moorgard took a moment to respond and give his point of view on content and what we make of it.
Your subscription provides you with access to the game's content. How much of that content you wish to consume is entirely up to you. In order to make some of that content exceptionally compelling and rewarding, both time and effort are necessary to experience it. That's simply the nature of the beast; this is a game in which loot value is based on scarcity and rewards are based on achievement. There are of course other models MMOs can follow, but this is the one we have in our game.
I thought that this was an interesting point, and most definitely a post worth reading. Check out what Moorgard has to say, and add your 2 cents (or more) in this EQ2 forum thread!
