I was browsing the forums and found this nifty post by Moorgard on procs. A lot of you, like myself, understand little about how these work, so I thought it to be a interesting tidbit that gives us all a bit more knowledge and insight into the mechanics of the game.
Actually, for all but the hardcore number crunchers (which, remember, are the minority in large-scale MMOs) the current system is more clear. If effect A gives you a 5% chance to proc for X damage and effect B gives you a 10% chance to proc for Y damage, it's much easier for most people to look at the relative values and decide which they'd prefer.
