Most Played Games on Steam 2021

Unlike the lists that are based on commercial success, the Most Played list showcases games that achieved the highest numbers of players through December 15th, 2021. We've included every game that reached more than 30,000 players for the year, grouping them into buckets based on the number of players they reached. Like in previous years, we exclude player spikes caused by free weekends, giveaways, and other anomalous events.

These are the games that really hit the mark in 2021.   Some were truly remarkable games.   Some were remarkably broken and dysfunctional.  Some are over 5 years old and some are brand new.  A truly diverse list that includes Rust, PUBG Battlegrounds, Valheim and more.
