If you've dabbled at all in SOE's official Everquest 2 forums, it's likely you've seen the name "Moorgard" and the title "Community Manager" at the top or the bottom of some very informative and/or interesting threads.

The evolving role of Community Manager in the online gaming industry has ranged from rampant stifler of public criticism to a corporate broken-record pundit. Everquest 2 has been fortunate to have someone like Moorgard to balance players' concerns with developer's intent; a player's advocate sincerely interested in keeping the game fun... fun for everyone, and fun for more than a few months.

In a move announced Wednesday, Steve Danuser a.k.a. "Moorgard" announced that he will be stepping down in order to become a full-time game designer, and Ryan "Blackguard" Schwayder will be taking his place. Best of luck to Blackguard in his new role!
