A lot of questions have been raised regarding the upcoming addition of PvP servers to EQ2. one such concern was whether or not existing characters would be allowed to transfer to the new PvP ruleset servers. It seems that answer is no.

EQ2 Producer, Scott Hartsman, addresses this in a response to a poster:

I talked with Chris a little bit when he got back from CES and he warned me that he may have misspoken in the heat of giving the demo.
The current plan is that there will not be transfers of existing characters to PvP servers.
If anything changes with that plan, we will absolutely let you know.
