Being online is fun - and gaming gadgets, consoles and accessories are always on the top of people’s Christmas or birthday wishlist. Whether it’s to play casino games or bet on sports at sites such as oddsindex - or whether it’s to play the latest hi-tech online games or VR games.

Thankfully, the gaming industry is always coming up with new, innovative and very cool new products. Some are hits, others don’t always catch on. But, they all get plenty of attention. Here, we will take a look at some of the most highly anticipated gaming gadgets we can expect in 2022, that could well be the future of gaming and change life as we know it…

No. 1: The Nintendo Joy Cam

Nintendo has created the very successful Nintendo Switch gaming console - and the ‘Joy-Cam’ has been designed to take it to the next level. This is a controller that affixes to the side of the console, giving it front-facing and rear-facing cameras. This means that players will be able to snap photos, take videos, play in immersive MR and AR, and even capture and stream their reactions as they play.

This new device comes from Liam de la Bedoyere, a UK-based designer - who believes that the Nintendo Switch has lots more potential than simply being a standard gaming device. In a similar way to the Game Boy, which also came with its own add-on camera, which could take a standard low-res black and white photo, the Joy Cam will be a big step forward. It will not only give the Switch photographic features, but it will make it a more versatile and fun multimedia and gaming device.

No. 2: LG Module SPinner 1.3

Next on the list comes the LG Module SPinner 1.3. Which has been described as ‘gaming speakers’. It is said to maximise three-dimensional sound by placing three modular speakers in the same room and is able to provide different sounds at the same time, depending on the user’s gaming environment.

So, normally when you play video games, every sound in a particular environment is compressed together in one output. This can often feel jumbled and messy. Using this spatial audio will differentiate every sound by separating first and third person audio, staggering delivery and thus creating an oscillating effect.

No. 3: The Corsair K70 RGB PRO Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

The brand new, hotly anticipated CORSAIR K70 RGB PRO Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is made from an aluminium frame and is developed with AXON technology, to help you with whatever demanding tasks you might have. This design allows it to operate 8-times quicker than a standard keyboard. Moreover, it has also been amped with 8,000 Hz hyper-rolling, 4,000 Hz scanning plus 20 layers of hardware RGB lighting. Other things to look out for on the newly updated keyboard are 100% mechanical key switches with linear travel as well as a detachable USB Type-C cable.

No. 4: The Steam Deck

The upcoming Steam Deck is designed to bring an even better spirit of adventure to PC Gamers by allowing them to take their favourite pastime with them anywhere they want. This isn’t quite a Nintendo Switch, and the Steam Deck dwarfs the Nintendo device in size. This is because the Steam Deck needs to be able to pack in more hardware to support games in a way that the Switch can’t. However, that also means that the game is not as comfortable to play and as convenient to carry around for longer periods of time. And, unlike the Switch, you can’t detach the controllers to make it lighter.

An Exciting Gaming Future

We are barely touching the sides with these four. There is much more we can expect in the future, the Razer Basilisk V3 Gaming Mouse, the retro-inspired OBJKT-2. Vers the VR friendly controller box, the Gameboy inspired KANO-XP and the Gravitation Controller. There is so much happening every single day in the world of gaming technology that it’s an incredibly exciting industry. We can’t wait to see what 2023 brings!
