A new comic went up yesterday. I personally think that this one is funny, which means it probably isn't. The comics that relate a game to real life always strike me as the most amusing.

Karen has reviewed the EverQuest 2: Rise of Kunark Expansion, we talked to EverQuest bigwig Travis McGeathy and Cody took a look at the upcoming changes to Dungeon Runners, NCSoft's free-to-play MMOG.
Those of you who watch TV (I rarely have time) may have caught a recent episode of Numb3rs in which the plot revolved around a MMO-ARG. If you watched it what did you think? Did they get it right? I read that one of the on-screen game devs was even named "Binky". Perpetual Entertainment has a "Binky". Coincidence?
Game sites are a dime a dozen. There are literally thousands of websites about gaming out there, the majority of which don't have the smallest idea about how the industry works. They love gaming and they love attention. These sites post speculation and rumour hoping that they will eventually post something outrageous enough that people will actually come to visit them. It happens all of the time. When a site run from someone's basement does it we ignore it.
When a site like 1UP does it, we scratch our heads.
1UP has posted the following story, "Is Marvel Universe Online Dead?" in their news section. Not rumour, but news. It is at best an opinion piece. Why do I care? They cited TenTonHammer as part of their witch hunt, specifically my interview with Michael Lewis. We are cited as a "MMO Blog". Did they even bother to look at the site? Who is feeding them this information and why? This story seems a lot like a monkey with a shotgun. It's funny, but dangerous.
If MUO is in trouble then it's in trouble. I don't see any evidence to prove it. I see only rumour and speculation. Blizzard doesn't talk about their in-development games either, but nobody is claiming that they are canceled.
If MUO is on its death-bed then it is a shame, but until I see some evidence to the contrary I will assume that it is moving merrily along. Conspiracy theories can be a lot of fun until they harm somebody. Is MUO on the rocks or alive and healthy? Your thoughts?
