Several days ago I wrote about changes I'd like to make to the revenant and since then, ArenaNet have buffed the profession significantly. Although we haven't yet testedthe new update, I think it's fair to say that it'll make a huge difference. Boosting damage across individual skills by over 20% (sometimes higher) is going to have a significant impact on the profession, especially when factoring in weapon swap and Shiro. Being able to use two weapons, alongside two Legends, will open up many poor possibilities when it comes to playstyle. I was very concerned at being stuck with just one weapon set and thankfully I can now use double swords and staff, alongside Shiro and Mallyx. I've no idea whether the damage will be up to what I hope, but as long as it's somewhat comparable to my ranger I'll be more than happy. There's only a few professions that deal eye watering damage but I'm happy to sit somewhere in the middle as long as I have a varied amount of gameplay and the profession takes a certain degree of thought.

The only concern I have right now with the revenant is the combination of energy and cooldowns on skills. The energy mechanic I love, but it also seems strange to have both on skills. Surely with some tinkering everything could use just energy? I'm not entirely convinced it's a mechanic that's needed. One or the other, preferrably energy, is the way to go.

What are your thoughts on the revenant changes? Could they have gone further or do you think they'll put the profession back on track? Let me know.
