The Austin Game Developers Conference is over, which means Cody is briskly tapping the keyboard in an attempt to get you the goods. A Stargate Worlds preview and an interview with the big dogs at CCP/White Wolf are both posted already.

I have had more than one developer comment to me that they found it strange that Mike Morhaime's (Blizzard CEO) address was to a packed house while Min Kim and Sulka Hara the brains behind Habbo Hotel and Kart Rider had far fewer in attendance.

I personally don't find this peculiar in the least. If I asked North American MMOG players who Min Kim and Sulka Hara were very few would be able to tell me. If I asked them to describe Habbo Hotel or Kart Rider to me I would get a few more correct answers. If I asked them to tell me about Blizzard or World of Warcraft I could be stuck all day while they prattled on about a raid that went badly a year ago. Perhaps if the event were held in Tokyo the turnout would have been different, or in the very least Kim and Hara would have also had a full house.

I leave you with this transcript of some of the banter that went on in the "What are the Biggest Online Gaming Opportunities?" panel. Putting this crew together was the best idea since someone decided to sell fireworks in gas stations. Oh, how I wish I was there for that little chest beating session. For the record, Mark Jacobs summed up pretty much anything that I would have said, only more eloquently.
