Rogers, an Internet / Telecommunications giant in Canada has been caught throttling bandwidth to gamers, because, well, your $50 isn’t as valuable as the other guy’s $50. I can understand the whole heavy user versus light user debate, but frankly, light users aren’t the ones who are driving the industry forward. If the heavy users aren’t paying enough to make it profitable then charge more, but don’t charge one price and then limit the access to what was purchased. Imagine if MMOGs did this! Sorry, you paid your subscription fee, BUT, you’ve played 40 hours this week, so we are only going to allow you to use half your spells and oh yeah, you will run at half speed.
World of Tanks hits retail this week; grab a shiny box if you are ready to roll. I have not spent much time with this title, but most everyone who has loves it.
With two huge conventions just over, the normal drama in the industry has subsided. If you have topics that you would like me to cover, just send them in!
I promised that I would give you my answer to my conundrum regarding needing and greeding. I needed on the second pet, even though I won the first. I feel great shame.
That’s it for today. Thanks again for reading. See you in-game!
