EverQuest II (EQII) Senior Producer Holly Longdale dropped by the official forums today to deliver her latest missive to the community on the upcoming beta and launch for the Tears of Veeshan expansion. Longdale took some time to touch on the new features and content coming with the expansion such as the Channeler class and dragon-themed AAs.

For you lore junkies, Longdale also covered some of the story in the expansion that will take players to some interesting new places, one of which is the dragon afterlife.

Vesspyr is the location in Ethernere – the Norrathian afterlife -- where all dragons pass when they die. There will be several well-known and interesting dragons found here in addition to Yelinak, including Harla Dar, Darathar, and Lord Vymm. Vesspyr connects to 9 dungeons with a variety of advanced solo, heroic, and raid instances with Shissar, Bixie, High Keep, Nexus, and Temple of Veeshan themes. There’s a lot of quests and missions too that will reveal the local storylines in each dungeon. Our designers will start digging into these themes with you really soon in some articles online.

The Tears of Veeshan open beta is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 15th, 2013 followed by the official expansion launch on Tuesday, November 12th. SOE also has a list of pre-order items for those that decide to pick up the expansion early.
