This choice is for those players that abhor the need to communicate by
typing in games. If today's technology gives us the opportunity to
interact directly with our fellow players over a microphone and some
speakers (or a headset), why not use it? Most players can talk faster
than they can type. It also allows people to concentrate on what's
going on without being distracted by having to watch the chat channel
or their fingers if they can't type strictly by touch.
Those players that use a voice service the majority of the time they
play should choose this option. While they don't loathe the idea of
using a keyboard for communication, they prefer to spend their time
chatting instead of typing.
There are a number of players that may not particularly like using a
voice service, but for the sake of a raid will do so. Raids generally
require more cooperation than most group situations due to rapidly
changing situations in an encounter. A raid leader needs to be able to
communicate very quickly and effectively for a successful raid
encounter. The players choosing this option recognize this need and
accept that this is a useful tool to accomplish this feat.
Whether it's because your typing skills are nothing to sneeze at or you
simply hate talking with people using a voice service, this choice is
for you. With the exception of raids (normally), it is virtually
impossible to avoid chatting with your fellow players about various
events in life as is human nature. For some players, this completely
removes any immersion they have with a game and subsequently their
enjoyment of it as well. Some players choose to game for a bit of
relaxation but find none with other players prattling in their ears
about any number of events. For those that prefer the pitter-patter of
your fingers on the keyboard, this option is for you.
Do you use any form of voice communication while playing Vanguard: Saga
of Heroes?
