With the recent influx of new players to the servers recently, what
better set of quests to do guides for than the popular Hunter's League?
The Hunter's League quests are not only a great opportunity to get some
good grouping skills down in your late teens and early 20's, but they
also offer a very impressive set of armor and weapon of choice, all of
which is tailor made for each class! Enough jaw jacking though, let's
get to the guides!
After completing the last
quest for Neneler back at Skrilien Point, it's time to move on. He let
you know if you wish to continue your rise in the ranks of the Hunter's
League, to head northwest to Skawlra Rock. Once there, seek out a man
by the name of Roskva Dobaja. The trip there is pretty easy. You can
either rent one of the wyverns right there at Skrilien Point to fly
there, use a boat (if you have one) or simply swim there.
Once you arrive, talk to Roskva. He seems like a no nonsense kind of
guy and gets to the point without a lot of preamble. He tells you your
bounty is deep within the rock of the island, but he's not sure if
you’re up to it. As he puts it, there's no point in sending
you to collect a bounty deep inside the rock if you can't even make it
there, so he has a test of skill for you.
The test is relatively straightforward. All you need to do is collect
20 Lizardman Bones off the Gauthek lizardmen wandering around. Along
with these, you'll also need to bring back 20 Fairy Wings. The wings
drop from the Atoll Fairies. Seems simple enough, doesn't it?

hspace="10" vspace="5">The Lizardmen are just to the
northeast of you, winding up and down the edge of the rock that makes
up the island. The majority of the Gauthek are level 20-22 3-dots,
though they tend
to be paired close together, so expect having to pull 2 at a time on a
regular basis. Be aware that there are also a few 4-dot Gauthek
scattered around as well, so be on the lookout and know what you're
going to pull rather than just wandering around there blindly. Once
you've collected 20 bones, head back down the rock and head towards the
cave marked on your map.
Outside the cave entrance, there are two level 21, 4-dot Gauthek. If
you're
attempting this solo, there a re a few different ways to split the
mobs, depending on your class. As a Dread Knight, tag the one closest
to you, turn around and run. When the mobs turn back to their starting
point, spin around and slow one. When the other gets out of range, let
the fight begin. These lizards are tough, and they're also healers, so
be ready for a battle.
Once the two lizards are cleared, you can begin to carefully work your
way through the cave, killing all the fairies within to collect their
wings. The Atoll Fairies are level 20-22 3-dot mobs. They won't drop a
wing every time, but sometimes, they'll drop
two at a time so it seems to even out in the end. As a warning, the
Propagator Fairies, will spawn two level 20-21 2-dot fairies when they
die. Imagine
how happy I was when I was introduced to that little surprise the first
time I saw it. I'm sure they got a hearty laugh as I meandered all the
way back to my tombstone.
Once you've gotten the wings, it's time to head back to Roskva and
collect your reward. He seems genuinely happy that you've returned in
one piece and believes you may go on to do great things. He gives a
little bit of coin, which is actually kind of insulting. Fortunately
though, he also offers you a set of amazing greaves, so it makes up for
it.
