The Druid
The Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Druid is no longer a healing priest of nature but a force of nature to be reckoned with. Instead of playing the role of a healing and multitasking Jack of all Trades ala EverQuest, the druid becomes an arcane caster, primarily a damage dealer, who will manipulate natural forces to wreak havoc on his enemies. Darrin McPherson, Game Designer for Sigil Games Online, stated in an interview with The Druid's Grove, that the druid will have the ability to affect the weather, summon natural allies, and cause earthquakes. It has been suggested that the druid will also have nature-inspired utility skills, such as the ability to raise winds to speed a boat on its journey.
Will the druid completely lose healing and regenerative abilities? The simple answer is, we don't know. With Vanguard in the early stages of beta (As of this write-up on September 6, 2005 the druid class is not being tested in beta yet) we'll have to wait until more class information is released. I'll keep you updated!
