At The Edge of the Wild
Guide to Forsaken Inn Quests
By Darkgolem
The Lone-Lands is an area of scrub and desert, festering with
populations of orcs and goblins, bandits and wild beasts. Found
east of Bree-Land, beyond the Midgewater Marshes, this area is untamed
and lawless, where security is found only at the point of a
sword. However, the Free People do have bastions of civilization
here, precariously holding off the threats of this outland.
One of the more prominent locations an hero of the Free-People will
visit is the Forsaken Inn. Located next to the road from Bree,
under the shadow of ancient Weathertop and the Weather Hills, the Inn
has seen better days. At the inn there is talk of problems with
the depredations of goblins (found in nearby Minas Eriol, an ancient ruins
to the south), wargs wandering the lands about, and a lack of supplies
from Bree due to the hostile creatures and humanoids about. Some
members of the people known as the Eglain are found at the inn
thirsting for vengeance against the goblins who drove them from their
home.
Most of the quests you get from the Forsaken Inn involve the ruins of
Minas Eriol. The ruins are made up of 4 areas; which I will call
Goblin Front, Goblin Rear, Wolf Run and Spider Webs. Traveling
south of the inn, you will see a long grassy canyon which forks,
heading left (to the Wolf Run) and right (to the Goblin Front).
The Wolf Run has many wolves, some wargs, and enters the Spider Webs,
which has (as you might guess) many spiders, including elite
spiders. Around the back of Minas Eriol, entered from the north,
is a "back door" to the Spider Webs area. The Goblin Front area
is full of normal goblins, in small groups, scattered among
ruins. Past the a wooden bridge at the Goblin Front area is the
Goblin Rear area, a palisade full of elite goblins. Don't go to
the Goblin Rear area without plenty of support, these little buggers
are vicious.
Aside from Minas Eriol, for the "animal" quests (boar meat, etc),
unless specifically noted, these opponents are found near the inn,
mainly up in the nearby Weather Hills and east on both sides of the
road.

the ruins south-east of The Forsaken Inn.
Constable Bram Ashleaf has asked you to slay Nishrûk, the leader

(Author's note: Nishrûk is at 35.8S, 33.8W. When
doing this quest, bring a full party, including a tank and healer, and
be coordinated. The goblins hit hard, and respawn very quickly,
and the second half of this quest is all elites 20-23)

(Author's note: The rubble is hard to notice. They are not
"glowing" like other usable items are. However, once you reach
the ruins below Minas Eriol, you will note grey patches on the
ground. This is the rubble you will want to search. Beware
the many hidden wolves found here.)
