Use
of missile weapons to destroy the many, many baby crystal spider eggs
is a must to avoid excess fighting. Use missile weapons from range on
spiders, en masse, to avoid excessive poisoning (as much as possible).

Stocking up on potions of jumping, Bull's Strength, Lesser Restoration
and having a good cleric (or two) able to cast Lesser Restoration is a
very useful thing. Don't rush this; go piece by piece to better handle
this very difficult (for its level) adventure.

style="font-weight: bold;">Walkthrough:
This quest starts with a spiral
ramp like stairway, leading down into the depths of this vast complex.
At the bottom of this ramp you will find 2 spiders before a closed
door. After defeating these spiders, you will note to the sides two
storage areas.

Within both storage areas you will see small white globes. These globes
are crystal spider eggs. Shoot them from a distance, and do not
approach them. If approached, they will either poison you or will open
to hatch a baby crystal spider. These are quite nimble and can poison
you. There are many, many crystal spider eggs in the complex. Always
shoot them, if you fight each one you will be easily worn out by the
time you reach the lower portions of this complex.

In one of the side storage areas there is a switch. Activate this
switch to open the door beyond. Immediately, a giant spider will
approach you. After defeating this giant spider, you will find yourself
in a vaguely U-shaped area, around a gated door opening into a deep
shaft lined with ledges along the side. To enter the gated door, you
must look for and activate two signal crystals found among crates on
the sides of this area. Once both are activated, enter the shaft and
make you way farther down.

At the bottom of this shaft you will find another U-shaped hall. It
contains a vicious giant spider named Venom. When Venom is href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/modules.php?set_albumName=Exclusive_Screenshots&id=fire_trap_on_stairs&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php"> alt="fire trap"

style="border: 2px solid ; width: 150px; height: 113px;" align="left">killed
you will find a poison sac on the ground. Recover this for experience.

In addiction to Venom, there are baby crystal spider eggs scattered
about, and some giant scorpions and spiders. Again, carefully work your
way along the area, avoiding moving too fast. There is also a shrine,
and use it before exiting this area because you cannot return easily.

Of note are two traps. One is located behind the landing at the bottom
of the shaft you use upon entering. It is a fire trap, which can be
disarmed for experience or avoided by jumping off the raised landing.
The second trap is a spike trap situated at the exit from this area,
located by approaching the door slowly until it reveals itself. The
spike can be timed with difficulty.

To open the door exiting this area, you must again activate two signal
crystals found on the sides of the rooms among the shelves and ledges.
Past these signal crystals, again, is a shaft lined with ledges leading
down.

Once entering the shaft past the trap, you will find that you have to
jump from ledges to ladders, then climb down to lower ledges, and jump
to more ladders, making your way down to the bottom of the shaft. At
the very bottom is a pit. You can avoid this pit by a leap from the
last ledge to the edge of the pit. In the pit are two scorpions and a
chest. Past the pit is another complex series of rooms, guarded by more
spiders, a vicious scorpion (Bile), and two well-trapped rooms.

Immediately upon exiting the pit is a spider. To your left is a rune
activated by climbing and triggering a lever. To your right is a ladder
leading up to the spike room. Ahead leads to Bile. First go to Bile and
defeat him, getting his stinger for experience. Also, past Bile you
will find a small sectioned-off room with a lever. This lever needs to
be activated before continuing; once past this nightmarish collection
of trapped rooms is the door this lever is responsible for (partially)
opening.

Once you have activated the lever (and the signal crystal it lights),
return to the pit and climb up the ladder leading to the spike room.
The spike room has a giant black widow spider here, which must be
defeated before continuing. A trap box on the right side of the room
deactivates some of the spikes here. The spikes are quite deadly—do not
take them lightly. To the left of the spike room is another pit with a
signal crystal and a scorpion. Again, you must activate th href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/modules.php?set_albumName=Exclusive_Screenshots&id=door_to_redfang&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php"> alt="it's a door, yo"

style="border: 2px solid ; width: 150px; height: 113px;" align="right">is
crystal
before continuing, or you will have to come back. Once done with these
things, continue on to the worst room of all here: the poison room.

The poison room has many, many jets of poison that drain Strength. The
best way to deal with this room is to have a rogue go to the right side
of the room to find and disarm the trap box there. Again, this will NOT
disarm the traps totally, but it will make it less deadly if you travel
right around the room to the exit, seen on the far side. If you have
jump potions, use them now. On the far side of the room a lever opens a
portcullis that blocks the exit door. Activate this lever and leave as
soon as possible to avoid as much Strength-draining poison as possible.

Past this room are three small rooms with more spiders and scorpions;
none are named or particularly noteworthy. The third and final signal
crystal is located in this area, too. At the end of the third room is a
door, opened by the activation of the signal crystals, that leads out
of this area and on to the end of this complex and Redfang.

Beyond the door is another spiral turning ramp like staircase. It has
fire traps located on the top and bottom of the stair, but these will
activate before a person reaches them if the person travels slowly.
They can be timed. A spider is located here also.

href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/modules.php?set_albumName=Exclusive_Screenshots&id=redfang_s_chamber&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php"> alt="Redfang's room"
src="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/files/gallery/albums/Exclusive_Screenshots/redfang_s_chamber.thumb.jpg"
style="border: 2px solid ; width: 150px; height: 113px;" align="left">At
the bottom of the spiral stair is the final room, with Redfang.

Redfang is difficult, but not that difficult compared to what you have
faced arriving here. Deliver damage quickly to Redfang and his two
friends (also giant spiders) and you will win easily enough. After this
is done, a ladder leads up to a ledge in one part of the room with a
chest. Mind that there are still baby crystal spider eggs sitting
around.
