Overview

Many game systems in Skyforge are fairly straightforward and immediately accessible even to players new to MMOs and cooperative online games. At the same time, certain aspects of the game offer plenty of depth and degree of complexity that might not be as easy to grasp when first starting out.

Currency in Skyforge tends to fit into the latter group, so in this guide we’ll be discussing the various types of currency found in the game, how they are obtained, and their primary uses. This page will provide an introduction to the main Currency Groups, or for more specific details you can also click on the associated tabs at the top and bottom of the page.

Currency Groups

Within the Character window, you will find a tab towards the top of the display for Currency:

In this window you will be able to view a list of Currency Groups that break down the various types of currency actively used in-game. As new currency types become available through active play, they will be automatically added to this display under the associated group category.

The current listings under Currency Groups are as follows (for additional details you can skip directly to the relevant tab above):

Limits – Lists the Weekly Limits imposed for certain currency types and your current progress towards reaching them

Money – Lists available totals for Credits, Argents, Celestial Threads, and Myrrh Drops. These will be the most commonly used currencies for purchasing items in the Market, personal rewards and pantheon bonuses, upgrading to Premium status, etc.

Ascension Atlas – The main listing for Sparks of Insight which are primarily used to unlock nodes in the early stages of the Ascension Atlas for each class, and most nodes in the Upper Atlas.

Class Sparks – Lists totals for Sparks of Evolution as well as any Sparks earned for a specific class.

Rarities – These are collectible currencies found in open (shared) combat areas that can be used to purchase cosmetic skins in the Market specific to a given map

Other – Primarily lists out currently available Particles of Mastery which are used to upgrade equipment boosters.

Earning Currencies

Most currencies will be earned through active play as loot or mission rewards, though some can also be earned through other systems such as Daily Login Rewards. For the most part, you will be able to take an active role in which types of currency you earn while playing.

Once you’ve completed the first few story missions, additional alerts will become available on the map within the Divine Observatory. Each alert will offer a specific type of reward, primarily focused on Sparks of Insight, though other reward types will occasionally be listed. Alerts will regularly reset with the tactical situation update – a timer will be displayed at the bottom of the screen to tell you how much time remains until this occurs.

Upon completion of all primary objectives for any alerts you undertake, you will be shown a quest completion screen that displays any rewards you’ve earned. There will often be additional currencies or resources awarded based on your performance beyond the base Sparks of Insight indicated when accepting the mission.

In the example below you can see that successful completion of the Port Naori alert and its current bonus objectives awarded a combination of Sparks of Destruction and Particles of Mastery. Bonuses were also applied for Premium status, and having Replicators active. (Additional info on Replicators can be found under the main Sparks tab)

Daily Login Rewards

Various currencies can also be earned as Daily Login Rewards. A window listing the potential rewards will be shown each day upon login (shown below). Hovering your mouse over each item listed will give you additional details on usage. Also note that any currency earned through Daily Login Rewards will not count towards your Weekly Limits.

Limits

Weekly limits on currencies are displayed under the main Currency tab within the UI. The numbers shown will indicate how much of a given currency type you will be able to actively earn for the current week. This count will reset each week on Wednesday.

While somewhat controversial within certain game communities, the concept of weekly limits is intended to impose some basic restrictions on things like how quickly a given player is able to advance through the Ascension Atlas, or control the amount of Credits in the active economy, among other things.

Once these limits have been reached for the current week, you will no longer be able to earn that type of currency. However, you will instead be able to earn alternate rewards that will still be highly beneficial for character growth, or allow you to more quickly purchase and unlock new cosmetic skins for your character in the Market.

To view your current progress towards reaching the weekly limits, open the Character window and click on the Currency tab at the top of the screen. Weekly Limits will be the first option found on the menu to the left.

Replacement rewards once weekly limits have been reached will be based on the type of currency involved. To view the replacements, highlight an item in the center panel, and details will be shown in the panel to the right. In the example below, you can see the resources that will be earned in place of Class Sparks which differ from those earned when reaching the limit for Credits, for example.

Starting out there will be limits listed for Credits, Sparks of Insight, and Particles of Mastery. As new currencies become available – such as Class Sparks noted above – they will also be displayed here when applicable limits are present for that currency type.

Currency earned through Daily Login Rewards do not count towards your weekly limits. Whenever this is the case, it will be noted within the tooltip as shown below. This is important to note as there will be ways of earning additional Sparks, Credits, or other currencies that can be earned in addition to those that contribute towards your weekly limits.

Money

On the bottom right corner of the screen you will find a display showing the total number of Credits and Argents currently available on your account. Clicking on the Argents icon will allow you to purchase them directly in set quantities.

Alternatively, you can also open up the Currency Exchange by clicking on the Credits icon. The Exchange allows players to spend Credits for Argents, or Argents for Credits depending on which type of currency you’re in need of at the time.

This system allows players the ability to earn Credits through active play, then convert them to Argents to add or extend Premium status, among other things. Premium Status adds numerous perks to your account, most notably the ability to collect +50% additional Credits, Sparks, or other currencies during active play.

The current list of benefits for unlocking or maintaining premium status include:

  • +50% Sparks, credits, and other resources
  • +50% building resources for pantheon quests
  • +25% Myrrh Drops when donating credits to the pantheon
  • Ability to receive Sparks of Evolution
  • Free teleportation across locations

Depending on the current market exchange value for Credits and Argents, it can be advantageous to convert your currency for certain in-game purchases. While certain items like cosmetics will require a specific currency type, many others will optionally allow you to spend either Credits or Argents.

Along with various item packs or consumables, a good example would be Enhancement Stones used in the upgrade process that can be purchased for either Argents or Credits. To do so, click on the item in the Market and in the purchase dialog found on the right side of the screen, check the box next to the type of currency you would like to use.

Sparks

Sparks of Insight are a currency used for character advancement in the Ascension Atlas. Within the Atlas you will find multiple nodes that will require a specific type and quantity of Sparks to unlock. Unlocking nodes will add to your overall Prestige, and boost one or more stats. Special nodes can also unlock Talents and Symbols, or can even unlock new classes.

There are multiple types of Sparks that you will earn though active play. These include:

  • Sparks of Destruction – Can unlock red nodes that increase your damage
  • Sparks of Creation – Can unlock green nodes that increase your defensive stats
  • Sparks of Balance – Can unlock blue nodes that increase additional stats and Leadership, as well as active Symbols

Along with the three core Spark types, you can also earn:

  • Sparks of Evolution – Can unlock any nodes in any class atlas (note that you will typically need Premium status to earn these)
  • Sparks of Transformation – Can unlock new classes in the Ascension Atlas. Consumed when resetting class abilities and talents.
  • Class Sparks – Used to unlock nodes for a specific class

Class Sparks will not become active until you have reached the designated node within the Atlas for a given class. Once unlocked, you will be able to earn and will be required to spend Class Sparks to continue advancement for that class.

Reaching this point on any class you currently have unlocked will also grant you access to the upper Atlas. This complex webbing of nodes is where you will be able to work towards unlocking additional classes, and Symbols which function similar to Talents but are not linked to specific skills.

Spark Replicators

Replicators allow you to earn additional Sparks for successfully completing alerts or open world objectives. They are a consumable that will often be rewarded for completion of story missions, as Daily Login Rewards, or can also be purchased directly within the Market.

As noted via the in-game tooltip, active Spark Replicators will:

  • Increase the amount of Sparks of Evolution (both general and class Sparks) you earn by 50% while active
  • Using additional replicators will increase the duration of the effect

Since Spark Replicators are a consumable item, you need to double click them from your inventory to activate them. You may also choose to hold onto them and save them for later.

Rarities

Another listing found in the main Currency display is labeled as Rarities. These are different than other types of currency in Skyforge in that they are gained by interacting with environmental objects in open mission maps. Each of these maps will have a unique currency as listed below:

  • Ancient Relic – Obtained from ancient chests at Isola Digs
  • Tuuta Leaf – Obtained from Tuuta Shrubs in Lanbur Forest, or during Operation Rusty Forest
  • Smoky Pearl – Obtained on Naori Island from the bodies of Khelps or hunters
  • Rare Crystallite – Obtained in the Milene Caves
  • Branibore Mushrooms – Obtained in Veines around mushroom spawns
  • Ancient Rune – Obtained on the Eskenian Peninsula when you find the required rune stones
  • Mediphyll Leaf – Obtained in the Roqul Valley by picking up Mediphyll

Each of the above can be used to purchase items from the Rare Items listing found in the Market. To view what items are available, open the Market (default “N” key) once it has been unlocked on your account, and then open up the “Rare Items” tab.

Here you will find a list of costumes and consumables available for each unique rare currency. As shown below, costumes currently cost 1200 of the designated currency each, so will take a bit of work to obtain. For example, on my first full run through Isola Digs I ended up with a little under 100 Ancient Relics from the ancient chests I came across.

Interactive objects on each map will respawn over time, so you won’t necessarily have to make multiple trips back to the same map to collect enough currency for costume purchases.

If you’re not keen on any of the particular costumes available, there are also consumables available at a much lower price point (40-80). These include things like the Mass Accelerator (AoE movement speed enhancement), Paralyzing Dart (5 second stun on target), or Gravity Trap (AoE enemy movement speed reduction).
