Intro

Orders form one of the largest and most in-depth gameplay systems in Skyforge outside of combat-focused content, at least on the individual level. At the social level, Pantheons exist as the game’s answer to guilds, but we’ll be looking at those in a separate guide. Today, we’ll be taking a closer look at everything you need to know to get started with your personal Order.

Getting Started

Orders won’t be immediately available following character creation, but will unlock sometime within the first week of active play depending on how much time you invest in the game. There are two key points at which you’ll be introduced to the existence of Orders, and the role they play in the life of your character.

1500 Prestige – Meeting a Follower

Once you’ve reached 1500 Prestige, you will be prompted to travel to the Park to meet your first Follower. This is a very straightforward dialog-only interaction, but one that helps introduce you to the role followers will ultimately play. The greater your achievements, the more followers you will gain. With more followers, your Order – and thus your power base – will grow.

2000 Prestige – Greatness

At 2000 Prestige, you will be prompted once again, this time to travel to a new map that will be unlocked for the Hall of Greatness. This is a personal space that will serve as your base of operations for recruiting Adepts, accepting offerings from your Followers, and even has a statue of your character that you can interact with to update its appearance as often as you see fit.

If you have some experience with MMOs, you could almost think of the Hall of Greatness (and by extension, the Orders system in general) as a cross between the Hall of Monuments in Guild Wars, and garrisons in World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor. The system in Skyforge pushes a bit further than either of those, however, as it will directly contribute boosts to your stats and Prestige, and can confer additional benefits over time.

The Hall of Greatness

Once you arrive at the Hall of Greatness, speaking to the Master of Orders will begin a short series of simple tasks aimed at introducing you to the main concepts behind the Orders system. By the end of this series you will have recruited your first Adept, established a temple in the Dawn Plateau province, and selected your first Chapel which grants you an active benefit in combat.

To learn more about each of these interlocking systems, jump to the associated section in this guide via the tabs found at the top and bottom of this page.

Followers

Followers are a collectible resource that will help determine your Order’s Rank. You can quickly view your current number of followers by opening up the Orders window (L). In the top center panel, you will find information pertaining to your rank, current number of followers, and how many additional followers are required to reach the next rank.

The rank of your Order will help determine a few key things.

  • Adept maximum level – 10 at Rank 1
  • Adepts limit – 8 at Rank 1
  • Temple maximum rank – 4 at Rank 1

As the rank of your Order increases, it allows you to recruit additional Adepts making it easier to take on more challenging missions, and you will ultimately be able to unlock increased benefits by increasing the rank of your established temples.

Gaining New Followers

Starting out your order will be at Rank 1, and will need a total of 800 followers to reach the next rank. You will primarily gain new followers by sending your available Adepts on missions. Special quests will also be offered by the Master of Orders that can also result in gaining additional followers. An example would be a quest that unlocks at 2700 Prestige that has you send an adept to complete the Skillful Speaker mission and rewards you with 67 additional followers (much higher than the standard mission reward at lower tiers).

Additional details on missions will be found under the appropriate section of this guide, but below you can see an example of a mission that rewards additional followers upon successful completion. These Order Development missions will appear in your list of Available Missions with a blue icon.

Gifts from the Followers

Each day your followers will offer you gifts that can be picked up next to your statue in the Hall of Greatness. This will provide additional resources that are often required for certain Adept missions. You will want to get into the habit of visiting the Hall daily to collect any gifts left by your follower.

Adepts

Adepts in Skyforge are NPCs that you can recruit into your Order. Once recruited, they will be able to go on missions to gain experience and collect valuable resources, and even be selected as the Patron for one of your available Provinces.

Recruiting New Adepts

When you first gain access to the Hall of Greatness, following the main quest will have you recruit your first Adept. Upon completion, new potential recruits will be found next to your statue. Starting out, you will probably want to recruit everyone in this first group as it will expand your options for missions and designating Patrons.

Over time, new potential recruits will appear next to your statue. To see if you have new followers seeking to become Adepts, you can check the main Orders window (L) at any time. When there are new followers available, they will be shown in the bottom center panel of the main Summary in the section labeled “Hall of Greatness”.

To recruit a new Adept, simply walk up to them in the Hall of Greatness and press the space bar. Details on the follower will be shown at which point you will have the option to recruit them, or cancel the process.

As shown above, each potential recruit will have 2 specific Talents (in this case Agility and Perception) that will be a factor when sending them on missions. These talents will increase as you level up and upgrade the rank of a given Adept.

Each recruit will also have a specific class, such as healer, engineer, or mystic. In our example above this particular follower is an Agent. You will want to aim for a diverse list of options, as each mission will have a recommended Adept type, and having the appropriate type in your party will greatly increase your chances of success (in many cases it will even provide an immediate 100% success chance).

Adept Slots

At Order Rank 1 you will be able to recruit up to 8 Adepts. New slots become available as you rank up – initially every two ranks, scaling up to every four ranks as you progress:

At any point you can select an Adept to become a Missionary. This effectively frees up the slot so that you can recruit a new Adept in their place. While you will lose any progress made on them in the process, this can sometimes be a good option if you find that you have too many Templars but are in need of an Engineer, for example.

Enlightenment

Enlightenment is a process that allows you to upgrade the quality of your Adept to increase their talent level. This process can be done multiple times, but will require higher quality and higher quantities of resources to complete each time. The resources required will depend on the selected adept.

In the example shown below, the resources required to upgrade my Sorcerer are Fighter’s Amulets and Acolyte Medallions. These are primarily gained as mission rewards, or can also be earned once you’ve reached your weekly class Spark limit.

For the first upgrade, you will also need to collect Adept’s Emblems. These will occasionally show up as adventure rewards in the Divine Observatory, and are worth collecting when possible. The number rewarded for completing an adventure will vary, and is also impacted by the +50% Premium bonus.

Successive upgrades will require higher quantities of rarer resources, such as the blue quality Symbol of Immortality x100 for the second upgrade. These will also be obtained as adventure rewards, but are a bit more difficult to obtain, and won’t begin to appear until you’ve reached a higher Prestige rating.

Missions

Once you’ve recruited some Adepts you will be able to begin sending them on missions. Missions will be your primary method of collecting resources required for things like Enlightenment or upgrading Temples, and will also be how you recruit new followers to increase the rank of your Order.

There are three main mission types (found under the Missions tab of the Order window):

  • Red – combat missions
  • Blue – order development
  • Orange – gathering resources

Special quest missions will also be found here, and have a distinctive light green icon in the mission list.

In the image above, you can see that there are 4 main areas within the Missions display to be concerned with:

1. This is the main list of missions. A question mark icon indicates a mission is available, while a checkmark indicates that a mission has been completed and ready for you to accept your reward. At a glance you will also be able to see mission type based on color, and the amount of time the mission will take.

2. Similar to adventures found on the map in the Divine Observatory, new missions will become available at set intervals. The time remaining will be shown here, along with the total amount of credits required if you would like to refresh the list early.

3. Your current amount of relevant resources will be displayed here. The resources displayed will be somewhat contextual, and based on the current highlighted mission.

4. Selecting a new or completed mission in the left panel will display the details in this panel on the right. This is where you will be shown potential rewards, be able to select one or more Adepts to send on a mission, the recommended Adept type, and any resources required to begin the mission.

You can send Adepts on missions from anywhere in-game, so won’t be required to be in the Hall of Greatness to do so. It is a good idea to get in the habit of beginning new missions whenever possible, as you will need plenty of resources and followers to continue advancement within your order.
