For a while now, there had been unconfirmed rumors that suggested that SK Gaming's superstar addition, AD Carry Konstantinos "FORG1VENGRE" Tzortziou was unhappy with his new team and did not intend to stay with them past the Spring Split. These rumors only gained traction once SK's regular season first place finish devolved into ending in 4th place after a disappointing run in the playoffs. It seems SK is happy to oblige, as they've already found his replacement.

SK Gaming didn't seem to have to look far to find their new ADC, as they simply turned back to the man Forg1ven replaced, Adrian "CandyPanda" Wubbelmann. CandyPanda's play last year had been heavily criticized, as he and bot lane partner nRated were considered weak links of the team, along with then-mid laner Jesiz. However, with Forg1ven no longer wishing to be part of the team (at one point suggesting Support player nRated would be better off retiring), it seems SK quickly jumped at the opportunity to bring CandyPanda back into the fold. Team chemistry is extremely important, and as talented as Tzortziou is, chemistry never seemed to be part of the deal.

Forg1ven has long had a reputation of being an exceptionally talented player, but difficult to get along with in a team environment. This split seemed to solidify both of those views, as he was named MVP of the split, but also clearly had problems with his teammates that couldn't be worked out. He is still under contract for the rest of the year, so if he wants to play in the LCS, another team is likely going to need to buy him out from SK Gaming. If that offer comes along, chances are very good SK will have no issue letting him go.

Time will tell what CandyPanda will bring to SK in the Summer Split. Stastically speaking, he was one of Europe's weaker players at the AD Carry position, but as North America's Apollo has shown us, some time off can often do a player a world of good. Taking time to focus on individual skill without the pressure of performing for an LCS team can be hugely beneficial, and SK is banking on the fact that CandyPanda will have reaped those benefits. It won't be too long before we find out if this move was the right one, with the Summer Split not far off.
