Square Enix today announced at E3 2013 that the upcoming A Realm Reborn revamp to the Final Fantasy XIV MMORPG will be making its way to PlayStation 4 in 2014. While the title will first arrive for the PlayStation 3 in August, Square Enix is already negotiating with Sony to make sure that players that purchase the game for the PlayStation 3 console will be able to smoothly transition to the PlayStation 4 when the game goes live.

The PlayStation 3 and PC version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn are scheduled to enter its third phase of beta testing on Friday, June 14th with a global release on both platforms on August 27th, 2013.

PlayStation®3 System Players Will Be Able to Continue their Adventures on Sony’s Next Generation Console

LOS ANGELES (June 11, 2013)– Square Enix Inc., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in the Americas, today announced that FINAL FANTASY® XIV: A Realm Reborn™ is in development for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, and is due to release in 2014.

We are currently in talks with Sony Computer Entertainment to ensure that players who purchase the PlayStation®3 version of the game will be able to smoothly transition their game accounts to the PS4™ version upon its release.

The PlayStation®3 system and Windows PC versions will enter the third phase of beta testing on Friday, June 14th, and are due for global release on August 27th.  A free 30-day trial is also included for new accounts, with monthly subscriptions starting at $12.99.

 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) visitors are invited to demo FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn at the Square Enix booth (South Hall #1647).

FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn will be available for the $39.99 on the PlayStation®3 system and $29.99 for Windows PC. The Collector’s Edition will be available for $79.99 on the PlayStation®3 system and the PC version will be sold exclusively at the Square Enix Online Store for $69.99.
