I've been playing Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn / Heavensward now for a month, and I've still learned so very little about the core mechanics of the game, and already 3.0.5 hits bringing a ton of new content and quality of life improvements to the game. This patch adds a new sidequest which must be completed to unlock Alexander: Gordias (Savage), the first raid of the expansion (I believe). Tomestones of esoterics has been introduced, expanding the list of tomestones, and are now awarded for expert, leveling, trials, and frontline duty roulettes and the low level roulette has been replaced with the leveling one, including dungeons up until level 59.

Seal Rock has been added to the PvP maps, it's a new frontline map that you can embark on at I believe level 50. It's got a lot of mechanics to it, so be sure to read up about it on the notes. There is also a ton of new items in the game, along with a new scrip for crafters, and new abilities, class changes, and so much more.

The amount of content in this update is so huge, I can't summarize it - my sincere apologizes, FFXIV patches are much like expansions for some MMOs, adding in quests, dungeons, and sweeping mechanic changes. You can read the complete notes here. The game is one of the best MMOs, in my own personal opinion, and is a ton of fun both on console and PC.
