DARK VALE GAMES FINALIZES RELEASE DATE AND INCREDIBLE TWO-FOR-ONE PRICING FOR UPCOMING INDIE PC MULTIPLAYER GAME FORGE

Gamers Get One of the Best-Looking, Best Playing PC Games of 2012 for only $19.99; Each Purchase Comes With a Second Copy for a Friend via Steam, Amazon or GamersGate

CARSLBAD, CA (NOV. 14, 2012) -- Dark Vale Games, an independent video game developer based in Southern California, will release FORGE, a multiplayer-only PC game set in a high-action fantasy world, on December 4 for $19.99 via digital distribution.  As an added bonus, anyone who purchases the game for $19.99 will receive a second copy of FORGE free-of-charge to bring another competitor into the fold.

On December 4, FORGE will be available as a PC download through several online retailers, including through Valve’s Steam service, Amazon.com and GamersGate, as well as directly from Dark Vale Games’ web site at www.PlayForgeWar.com.

FORGE, which is independently developed using the industry-standard Unreal Engine 3 from Epic Games, bridges the gap between the skill-based action of shooters and the strategic player-vs-player competition of massively multiplayer online games.   Featuring amazing worlds, unique fantasy classes, high-speed combat and an arsenal of devastating spells and attacks, FORGE’s competitive multiplayer requires team work, strategy and skill for success.

“Several months ago, we promised the PC gaming world a unique proposition: an incredible AAA-quality multiplayer fantasy game at an amazing indie price, and that’s just what we’ve delivered,” said Tim Alvis, COO/CTO of Dark Vale Games.  “As players of some of the best multiplayer PC games ourselves, we understand that these titles are all about the community.  That’s why we’re offering the best of both worlds – a great price point and a free copy that purchasers can give to their guild- or clan-mate or  anyone else they would like to have fighting by their side.  The more people we have playing FORGE, the more fun it will be.  We truly believe that and we’re putting our money where our mouth is to prove it.”

ABOUT FORGE

FORGE is a multiplayer-only PC game that plays like a third-person shooter, but with the abilities and strategic combat of the best MMO PvP titles.   Players will need to use their reflexes and aim to annihilate opponents while leveraging the strategy and tactics of their MMO-style abilities to decide how to attack and defend in different scenarios.

In FORGE, a malicious being named The Devourer has swallowed the great pantheon of gods.  Seeking escape, the trapped gods turn great warriors into zealous adherents and place them on a faceless world called FORGE, where every champion’s death feeds the immortals power.  Choosing one of five unique warrior classes, the player must battle head-to-head against others in a bid to free their god from the clutches of The Devourer.

Dark Vale Games is developing FORGE in conjunction with SuperGenius and Digital Confectioners. SuperGenius is an Oregon-based creative studio specializing in video game concepts, animation, character development, environments, and VFX.  SuperGenius’ most recent work included cut scenes, cinematics and in-game animations for Telltale Games’ critically acclaimed video game adaptation of The Walking Dead. FORGE will be available for digital download on December 4 and is rated T for Teen, for violence and blood, by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).  Please visit the ESRB website at www.esrb.org for more information about ratings.
