ProSiebenSat.1 Digital has rolled out new PvP and expansion details for their upcoming post-apocalyptic MMOG, L.A.W – Living After War. A recent update reveals some real-time strategy elements to PvP as players fight for control of five essential resources. The resources can be used to expand player bases, purchase new units and upgrade certain items, adding a real-time strategy element to PvP. Resources are obtained in-game by securing and defending a source or through the game’s internal stock market.

Players will need to search out and secure new resource deposits and defend them from enemy players on maps that can contain up to 1,000 players fighting it out simultaneously. Conflicts for these PvP areas are persistent and remain available for players to conquer at all times, allowing for a dynamic battleground where no one player can claim final victory.

The update also contains a few details about planned expansions for L.A.W - Living After War, which will expand the PvP landscape.

Check out the official press release after the break for more details. You can sign up for closed beta on the L.A.W - Living After War website.

"L.A.W – Living After War" – Plenty of details about real-time battles in PvP mode

Munich, Germany, November 8, 2011. The post-nuclear action MMOG "L.A.W – Living After War" is headed for the closed beta phase. But before selected players get to try out the fascinating world of the action-packed free-to-play game for themselves, ProSiebenSat.1 Digital is publishing more details about the unique PvP (Player versus Player) mode.

New PvP experience through real-time strategy

RTS (real-time strategy) battles are the core element of the PvP mode. A fierce war for five essential resources is raging on the apocalyptic battlefields of planet earth, polluted with radioactivity. The two feuding factions, humans on the one hand and the outcast mutant race of the "Nak" on the other, are dependent on the scarce deposits of raw materials. Players need these to expand their own bases, to purchase new units, or to trade in the game's internal stock market. They also use the resources to upgrade certain items in their possession.

Just like a classic RTS game, "L.A.W – Living After War" offers exciting tactical options for PvP players: Should they build turrets in order to defend their own base, or rather attack enemy convoys and weaken their opponents considerably? No matter what strategy they prefer, gamers choose from a whole arsenal of weapons and units. AI-controlled combat robots attack the enemy on their own. However, in tanks and battle helicopters, players take over the controls themselves. In connection with free aiming - players target their opponents just like in a shooter - the PvP mode becomes an explosive mixture of strategic decisions and action-packed combat.

PvP action around the clock

The starting point of each PvP conflict is the main base of the respective race. From there, players search for resource deposits and secure them with an outpost. In "L.A.W – Living After War", battles take place on dedicated PvP maps where up to 1,000 players will fight it out simultaneously.

The PvP mode is not divided into timed sessions, or organized in a lobby, but constitutes an always accessible part of the persistent game world. Thus, in "L .A.W – Living After War", nobody gets to claim the final victory. Instead, the conflicts are continuous and dynamic. Who gains the power over the raw material sources, and for how long they can defend them, is determined in thrilling battles every day.

Expansions already planned

The tactically sophisticated gameplay is a central element of the PvP mode in "L.A.W – Living After War". Therefore, the developers have announced ongoing development of these components for the time after the launch. In the months that follow, they will keep adding new elements such as vehicles, maps, and much more.

Very soon, players will experience PvP battles in "L.A.W – Living After War" for themselves for the first time. Those who want to be part of the action early can still apply for the closed beta phase under the following link: http://law.alaplaya.net/.
