A data center power outage over the weekend couldn’t have come at a worse time for Turbine. The Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) developer was set to launch its Helm’s Deep expansion yesterday, but complications from the outage and additional downtime led to a slight delay of the expansion’s launch to ensure a smooth rollout of the new content. Luckily for LOTRO fans, it’s a short wait.

LOTRO servers are scheduled to go down at 6AM ET on Wednesday, November 20th, 2013 for the deployment of the Helm’s Deep expansion update. No expected downtime was given.

On Wednesday November 20th, all LOTRO Game worlds will be brought down at 6:00 AM Eastern time (-5 GMT) to prepare for the release of Helm’s Deep. The LOTRO Store will be taken down at 5:00AM Eastern (-5GMT).

Release Notes will be made available during the downtime.

In the meantime, you can read our hands-on preview with the devs or indulge in a bit of the Grumpy Gamer’s take on egregious dwarven and elvish archetypes.
