GamersFirst, best known for its successful re-launch of APB: Reloaded, has undergone a bit of management change recently according to a report from Gamasutra. GamersFirst parent company K2 Networks CEO Joshua Hong has stepped down from his position. The board has appointed CTO and COO Bjorn Book-Larsson to fill Hong's vacated role citing the need for a new perspective.
"[The board] decided that it was time to bring a new perspective to the company, given the fact that the industry is changing very significantly, said chief marketing officer Rahul Sandil.
Book-Larsson will appoint a new management team to aid in the refocus of K2s development, which includes developing new IPs such as Hailan Rising and possibly even licensing of its GamersFirst Connect free-to-play platform. Sandil described the shakeup as very amicable and planned and Hong still remains an investor with the company as well as a board member.
