The final installment of Commander Shepard’s journey launched today with Mass Effect 3 and some players have been having some trouble importing their saved characters from the previous Mass Effect games. And if you've been following the series, you know that's a pretty big issue.

Earlier today Game Informer staff reported that some players, including staff members, had trouble importing saved characters features into Mass Effect 3. The crew later learned from an EA rep that the issue stemmed from attempts to import a character from the original Mass Effect. The issue was relating to appearance only but all other character choices went through fine. Unfortunately, that’s not the only problem. According to a post on the EA website, Xbox 360 players that opted to use the console’s Cloud save option for their games are currently unable to import their characters into Mass Effect 3 from Cloud.

While Mass Effect 3 supports cloud saving for new or successfully imported Mass Effect 2 saves, it does not support the importation of endgame saves directly from the cloud. Additionally, this can cause it to not recognize save files that have been transferred via cloud to a console other than the one where they originated.

There are some options to recover your saved game and transfer it back to your Xbox 360 system provided you still have the original system in which the save was created. If not it looks like you’re out of luck, but read up on EA's help suggestions for more. Additional import issues are also being reported for the PC.
