If you've been on hiatus from that classic MMORPG known as EverQuest, you might want to check back in. Earlier this month, SOE announced that it will be launching a new "Progression Server" this March and opened up voting to allow players to select the name of the new server. The name for that server was recently chosen by the community from a pool of available names. So what is the juggernaut name that was chosen to hail a new age of progression? Why Fippy Darkpaw of course! Everyone's favorite gnoll graces the new server with his name, beating out the likes of Vulak'Aerr and Kerafyrm the Awakened.

If you haven't been keeping up with the announcement, here is the short of it. The new Progression Server, Fippy Darkpaw, will go live sometime this March. But unlike previous Progression Servers, Fippy Darkpaw will be unlocked over a course of time rather than by conquered content, allowing players to enjoy the limited content longer and not have to worry about a guild powering though the content and unlocking all of the expansions in a short time. More details about the new server will be released at a later date.
