In two separate Reddit threads, Riot Lyte has shared some pretty interesting information on works-in-progress. First up, Team Builder Draft. This is a mode that seems to be pretty far along in development, and is actually intended to completely replace Normal and Ranked Draft modes in the future (it's confirmed that this will not be implemented before the end of Season 5.) Lyte shared these details:

1) Players will only have to choose 2 Positions (i.e = Top or Jungle), and we'll create a team based on players' preferences. We're still playing around with whether 2 positions is the right number.

2) By popular demand, we're introducing a new "Fill" position for players.

3) Players will no longer need to choose a Champion before entering the new Champion Select.

These are just 3 of the tweaks to the new Team Builder experience that make it a much faster, much more streamlined experience (and still fun and understandable to new players in League). We'll be talking about some of the bigger changes to the actual Champion Select in the near future. We hope that players prefer this experience to every other queue when it comes out!

As a side note, because we're already deep into the new Team Builder experience, we're not going to backwards patch or fix "Team Builder Classic" and will just leave it as-is until we replace some of these older experiences with the new Team Builder.

In a different thread talking about LeaverBuster and how the system deals with players who leave/AFK games, Lyte shared that games that start 4v5 will, in the future, allow players to reboot without penalties.

"Actually, LeaverBuster deals with AFKs and Leavers pretty damn well. You can read about it some more here:https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752714-LeaverBuster-FAQ

In the future, we'll do a small update to it so that when players fail to connect to a game and a game starts 4v5, we'll allow players to just reboot the game without penalties."

These are both features that should be quite welcome to the community. Team Builder Draft ensures that players will not be stuck with roles that they don't want or aren't comfortable with, which can be particularly important in ranked games. Allowing players to opt out of a 4v5 game is something that we've needed for quite some time, avoiding the frustration of having to play out a game for at least 20 minutes that will almost always result in defeat. We don't have an exact time frame yet on either of these features, but knowing that these systems are actively being worked on is certainly excellent news.
