Today marks the one-year anniversary of the official launch of PlanetSide 2. Since the reboot of the three-faction war for Auraxis began, SOE has made numerous updates to PlanetSide 2, adding the new region of Hossin, several new features, the first of its performance updates, and more.

SOE sent out a few statistics with today’s press release that may interest you. Over the last year, more than 6 million players have registered to play PlanetSide 2 worldwide, over 10 million bases have been flipped, over 93 billion shots have been fired resulting in over 878 million kills and over 80 million total hours played.

Now to the juicy bits of today’s update. To celebrate the one-year anniversary, SOE will be hosting a series of Twitch livestream (Schedule available here) events today, which will feature several PlanetSide 2 developers and community members. During the livestream, viewers will have a chance to win a number of different prizes such as Nvidia graphic cards, in-game items, and several others, including (drumroll) a PlayStation 4. Additionally, SOE will also be selling a one-year anniversary bundle through Monday for $39.99 as well as hosting a PlanetSide 2 Double XP event.
