We were wondering if Battlefront would get a king of the hill style game mode and it appears that Dropzone is the answer. Two teams of 8 will fight for control of orbital drop pods that periodically fall to the map. The official game rules were given in the EA press release.

When you locate a drop pod’s landing site, make your way to it and trigger the short claim process. Your team will win if it captures five pods, or control the majority of them after the 10-minute match is up. If a pod is constantly changing possession with no team able to defend it long enough to claim it, another pod will be sent down to break the stalemate. Then, there would be two pods that the teams have to gain control over.

As you can see it all looks to by a bit more dynamic than the standard "capture the point" game modes in similar games. Pods will be falling to different locations and even being drop to break up lulls in the action. Star Wars Battlefront is due out November 17th for PC PS4 and Xbox One.
